1983年毕业于内蒙古工学院,获工学(机械工程)学士学位。

1989年毕业于中国科学院,获理学(科技史)硕士学位。

1999年获中国科学院理学(科技史)博士学位。

 

 

1990年至今,在中国科学院自然科学史研究所工作,1999年底晋升为研究员。现为该所博士导师,德国马普学会科学史研究所-中国科学院自然科学史研究所伙伴小组组长,“近现代项目”首席科学家。广西民族学院兼职教授。中国科学技术史学会常务理事及技术史专业委员会副主任委员,中国机械工程学会理事、机械史分会常务理事。科学史学术期刊Science in Context编委、《自然科学史研究》和《中国科技史料》常务编委。

19964-19983月,德国柏林工业大学访问学者。19976月在英国剑桥李约瑟研究所从事访问研究。

199911-20004月,20012-7月,德国马普学会科学史研究所高级访问学者。

 

研究领域

技术史、天文仪器史和力学史,以及西方科学技术向中国的传播。

1.- 中国科学院知识创新工程项目中国近现代科学技术发展综合研究2000-2003),任项目首席科学家之一,并承担其中的二级课题“20世纪50-60年代苏联技术向中国的转移”;

2.- 中国科学院重点国际合作项目(中德马普科学史伙伴小组)“中国力学知识发展及其与其它文化传统的互动”(2001-2006),组长;

3.- 中九五项目中国传统技术综合研究课题(1996-2002):“农业机械史”课题负责人、“传统机械调查研究”课题负责人。
